One of the best ways to break the cycle of poverty is to ensure that children have access to school and to educational materials. Every term, ACT provides scholastic materials to our members to relieve their families from the financial burden of paying for school supplies. ACT has also secured sponsors for 13 individuals, ensuring that they will no longer have to stress about missing school days because their parents cannot afford the fees. Use the contact form to connect with a staff member about sponsoring an ACT member's school fees.
Before joining ACT, Priscilla lived with her mother who was unable to pay for her school fees. Idle and bored, Priscilla would watch her friends walk to school and dream of one day returning to the classroom. Priscilla’s desire to fill her day with acrobatics is one of the driving forces behind launching ACT’s Girls Team, a program which has enabled girls in the community to build strength, confidence and close friendships.
ACT recognized an incredible passion in Priscilla—not only in acrobatics but also in her desire to get an education— and was able to secure a sponsor for her. She now will be attending Old Kampala School and performing with her teammates who she describes as her best friends.
